NFL Scouting Combine
We collaborated closely with our longtime friends at NFL Network to develop a whole visual identity system and animation package for the NFL Scouting Combine. It represents the first time ever that the overall Combine look has been driven by the motion branding, which is super rewarding for us. The look was consistent across all touchpoints, including all of the in-stadium graphics during the event, thanks to the NFL fully embracing the creative.
A big part of our process involved creating an aspirational style guide with idea starters for the league to use in several key areas. We developed that simultaneously with the broadcast package in order to hone in the visual cues and animation sensibilities to make everything cohesive.
Adapting the Scouting Combine logo shield in different ways gave us a lot to play with in terms of shapes + patterns, and set the stage for a stylized 2d + 3d formula for incorporating other iconic football drill imagery. The resulting look feels very NFL but adds an extra edge that makes it stand out from the other sub brands. This one was a long time in the making, so it’s even more satisfying to finally see it in the wild!
