Capacity Studios is proud to be a gold tier Unreal Service Partner for the second year in a row. As a creative agency, we adopted UE into our pipeline well before it became a trend, so we’ve spent years honing in the workflow and earning the trust and respect of Epic Games in the process. In addition to collaborating on countless projects with Epic directly, we’re thrilled to be able to provide the same expertise and creative flexibility to all of our present and future clients as well.

Trailer cinematics make up a significant ratio of our UE-powered projects. We’re comfortable working with existing in-game assets or creating our own from scratch, and often it’s a combination of both. Our team uses a variety of real-time systems including material / procedural shader setups, animation tools, vfx + dynamics, Niagara, and Blueprints – combined, of course, with the full suite of more traditional 3d + 2d packages to create an artist-friendly and creative-focused pipeline.

Rocket League Campaigns / Psyonix + Epic Games
We have enjoyed so many successful marketing campaigns with our close friends + partners at Psyonix over the years. Our teams have truly synchronized into a smooth workflow and shorthand, and we’ve been able to help them regularly engage their player base to build hype for new seasons and DLC. All of the Rocket League trailer cinematics from recent years are created within Unreal Engine which, ironically, is something we've been doing since well before Psyonix was acquired by Epic Games! You'll find many of them throughout our selected work section.

Exodus / Pre-Launch Content / Archetype Entertainment
We created a set of bespoke game lore assets for Exodus, an upcoming sci fi action-adventure RPG from Archetype Entertainment. The pre-launch campaign, which includes short stories created by the game’s writers, is meant to generate player engagement and lay a foundation for where the game begins. From a production perspective this was a hybrid approach, utilizing UE heavily for Episodes 1 and 4, and for character-related aspects of Episodes 2 and 3. (view project)

In addition to cinematics, we’re passionate about using Unreal Engine to push the possibilities of broadcast + motion graphics. We have also utilized UE to help with look dev for AAA titles, as well as preliminary exploration of game mechanics. Our range includes graphic to hyperreal, but always with a thoughtful and relevant creative edge. For us, visuals are always driven by concept, with the purpose of capturing the hearts and minds of our target audience.
PromaxGames / Main Title
This was the project that really jumpstarted our push into real-time. We built the opening titles primarily in Unreal Engine, which we felt was a fitting move for a gaming conference and a fun challenge for the team. It was fairly uncharted territory for the mograph industry at the time. Even though it never had to exist in a playable format, we built the scenes to be functional and even acted some of them out in engine with a controller. (view project)

RLCS / Real-time GFX / Psyonix + Epic Games
Our ground-breaking broadcast package for Rocket League Esports is an interchangeable system of high fidelity, full screen elements that are driven by Unreal Engine. The concept of the “Hype Chamber”, a virtual space that we imagine is located within the arena, acts as a staging area for showing matchups, highlighting teams, announcing winners, and overall just building hype around the storylines and RLCS action every week. It can dynamically adapt to reflect a range of different content: The wraparound screens and foreground vehicles can quickly swap between league branding, team colors + car skins, as well as sponsor integration that includes custom vehicles. With each team or sponsor takeover, the whole mood of the scene changes, creating an opportunity for a high quality, curated experience with loads of variety and extreme production efficiency. We’ve put together a full case study here. (view project)

ESL Intel Extreme Masters / ESL Gaming
We used Unreal Engine to build out this heroic intro sequence for the longest-running pro gaming tournament in the world, Intel Extreme Masters, incorporating stylized player sculpts with Quixel megascans and custom environmental effects. (view project)

Sacramento Kings / Home Opener 2025
We teamed up with the Sacramento Kings to enhance their arena presentation and help launch their 40th season, incorporating nostalgic branded elements, purple 'beams', and some regal cg lion moments we created in UE. Working closely with their in-house team who was putting together the hero footage edit, we choreographed animations for 17 unique LED screens as well as the main jumbotron inside Golden 1 Center. We have multiple other ongoing relationships / projects with big names in the gaming + tech industries that we’re obliged to keep under wraps for contractual reasons, but we’re happy to say that we’ve been able to use Unreal Engine heavily in those collaborations as well. Some of those opportunities include helping figure out AAA game play mechanics, building interactive cinematic scenes to demo new tech, and creating branded graphics packages for global announcements.

We’re excited to be able to bring this workflow to our clients, and we look forward to continuing to help define the future of our industry in the process. For any potential partners who are interested in exploring possibilities together, we'd love to chat!
